My Family Story

My sister was diagnosed in the summer of 2013, after being told twice that she only had a cyst and it would go away. Well it didn’t and by November 2013 it had metastasized and she had stage 4 lung cancer and brain cancer. She passed leaving behind a husband and 3 kids.

I always tell her story before mine because I know the are connected. I was diagnosed Jan. 2016 with stage 3 breast cancer. I had an amazing team of doctors. I know the difference in the treatment my sister was given and my treatment was due to her lack of insurance. Would this story be different if she had private insurance?

It is important that all women have the treatment to save their lives.
