My name is Sara Fox and I’m 35 with breast cancer. I found a knot in March after planting rose bushes and thought it was a pulled muscle. Went to the doctor and they thought it was fibrocystic and sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound.

I almost blew off my imaging appointment because I have no history of cancer in my family. During my mammogram they found suspicious spots. I had a biopsy June 4th and got the call on June 9th that it was breast cancer. Stage 0 DCIS!

There was too much to do a lumpectomy, so on July 20 I had a double mastectomy and immediate reconstruction. There were two invasive spots they found in surgery. I’ve finished my 18th radiation treatment and I have 10 more to go. I also have my second reconstruction surgery in April.

This has been a difficult four months but the love and support I’ve been given from my family and friends has been beyond amazing. I still have healing but I am just thankful I found it early. It’s still hard to process this is my life now. If I say I trust God then I can’t doubt his plans for me. I know I’ll be okay and am just proud of myself for how I’ve handle everything. 💓
