Stayed Stong

I was diagnosed at age 48, after discovering a lump on my chest wall next to my breast. The lump was missed on my mammogram due to the position of it, ignored by my MD but listened to my internal voice and took charge of my health and sought out a doctor that helped me get the scans and treatment I needed to be given a chance to fight. I’m coming up on 10 years 1/2024 but know I must stay vigilant and continue to stay on top of my own health and advocate for me. I never said “Why Me” heck why anyone? I stayed positive and fought hard and prayed, a lot!

Get your mammograms, check your self monthly, do not stick you head in the sand. If you feel anything at all, don’t let anyone tell you it’s nothing, get a 2nd or 3rd opinion if you have to. Fight for Yourself, I did and continue to every day. All the while reflecting on my journey from First Chemo and then Radiation, loosing hair, living life, hair getting thinner, eyebrows finally tattooed and finally today, 9 years and counting.
