I started noticing changes in my left breast nipple right as covid started. Between working long hours as nurse and difficulty getting into doctor, I put it off until end of November.

She referred me right away to breast cancer oncologist. Within 10 minutes she had diagnosed me! Did biopsy and of course it came back positive for Paget’s disease of the breast. Was given my options, chose mastectomy with reconstruction.

Nurse navigator and Social Worker helped get me through all the paperwork and appointments!!!! Got financial assistance for hospital and local doctor bills. Got approved for assistance with rent and utilities. Nutritious food delivery every week! Yum!!

In the process of reconstruction, having to wait for 3 months for healing first. They are working on insurance. I feel blessed and want to pay back in some way. Walks or speaking. Did Zoom with Susan G. Komen!!!! Totally enjoyed that. Hopefully my story will help someone else!
