I was diagnosed on Sept. 1, 2011 with early Stage 1 breast cancer. I went through 3 lumpectomies because I was stubborn about not wanting a mastectomy. On December 20th, I had the mastectomy and reconstruction began on my left side. I went through 4 chemo treatments and lost all my hair. I continued working through all this. I had my permanent implant surgery in July of 2012. I am going strong and have a few family members and friends come to me for support when they have had to go through breast cancer. The one unfortunate part for me was learning what family members and friends I could count on for support for me and my husband. He was and still is my rock! I wouldn’t have gotten through this without him.
