I was diagnosed with triple negative, metaplastic breast cancer in February 2017 at the age of 32. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy, expander, fertility preservation, 8 rounds of chemotherapy, and finally reconstruction.

I had no family history and no BRCA genetic mutations, so breast cancer and treatments were very foreign to me. I had no kids, was single and was climbing the corporate ladder, and was at a loss for a support system. So, I created my own – one made up of family and friends that were always there for me in one way, shape or form via the Facebook group I started.

As I progressed through treatment, 6-month check-ins and was ultimately diagnosed as CURED in February 2020, I was finally able to put my experiences into words; and so I wrote WARRIOR: Challenge Accepted. WARRIOR is the book I wished I had when I was first diagnosed. It’s raw, real and uncensored. It takes away the fear of the unknown – for both the patient and the support squad. In October, 10% of net proceeds will be donated back to breast cancer causes to help women in need – especially in this crazy time!
