My Cancer Journey

My Cancer journey begin May 26 when I went to my Physician Assistant for a lump on my left breast. She examined me an right away scheduled me for mammogram, ultrasound. I went for my mammogram & ultrasound and radiologist told me right then and there that it might be cancer but I need biopsies so on July 25, 2022 had 4 biopsies and very uncomfortable. On July 29, 2022 he called me and told me that it was Cancer on both breast but I had a appointment with a Oncologist on August 1,2022 . I went in for my appointment and he asked me alot of questions and scheduled blood work, C T Scan for any metastasis. The second appointment was told of treatment of 6 chemo treatments, surgery- lumpectomies then radiation. It was all so unreal but it was actually happening. It was like a bad dream. I started Chemo on August 16. 2022 and had a appointment with surgeon. First chemo treatment was rough but tolerable. 2nd, 3rd and 4th chemo was tolerated ok but by 5th I couldn’t eat and was feeling terrible. I went to dr. And told him I could go on with the other 2 treatments and he told me I am going to remove 1 of the meds that I think is Making you sick so I was able to take my 5th and 6th chemo. I had surgery on January 13, 2023 the chemo had shurnked my tumor in the rt. Breast 90% to where there was no cancer cells left. The tumor in the left had shurnked 60% and was removed. 2 lymph nodes were removed from each underarm and TTG no cancer on lymph nodes. I am now undergoing 20 radiation treatments every day for 4 weeks and then on a pill for 7years. I am half way there hopefully to be Cancerfree!! Thank you for a Almighty God, My patient husband ,my son and his family, all my caring family and dear friends and of course all the Dr.s with their expertise that got me to this point t of my life. It’s not a easy road but it can be done!! Keep fighting!!!
