My story began after I found a lump in my breast just six months after receiving a normal mammogram report. I felt the lump and watched it for about 2 months. I then went to get it checked out and after a series of tests, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 HER2 Positive Breast Cancer.

I had to do chemo, and subsequently a double mastectomy with reconstruction. I found that what helped me most on my journey was taking my eyes off of me and using my predicament as a platform to help others. My journey with Breast Cancer made me more aware of the need for education, especially within communities of color.

As a result my family put together a PSA that became very popular on social media. In addition, I wrote a book entitled, “Victorious Secrets for the Breast Cancer Diagnosee”, to encourage other women in their faith while on this cancer journey.
