Strength in the Middle of the Storm

In 2014 I was diagnosed with DCIS, so I had surgery and reduced my breast and did radiation treatments for 12 weeks. In 2017, I developed a cyst, which I thought was a simple infection but it turned out to be more serious and I underwent a mastectomy and started chemotherapy. Although I lost a breast, my hair and my appetite, I never lost my faith. I learned during this process you must be your own advocate, you can’t let your emotions take over your life, you must find a place of comfort along with a good support system who will support you and hear you. I am 4 years cancer free and working on my book to help others.
