My Cancer Journey

Hi my name is Tonya. I am 49 years old. On January 15th, 2021 I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I had absolutely no signs, nothing found in my yearly exams. Luckily I have been getting mammograms since I was 32 years old because both my grandmother’s had Breast Cancer. On April 22nd, 2021 I had a right side Mastectomy. Then had to have wound care from June until September because it would not heal. I started chemotherapy in October 2021 and rang the bell on April 13th, 2022 saying bye bye Cancer. In may 2022 I visited my daughter in Montana and climbed a mountain just 5 weeks after chemotherapy.. To say I am proud is a understatement. I have stayed strong and positive through it all..
