Become a Komen advocate and help ensure that the fight against breast cancer remains a priority for state and national policymakers. Your voice helps ensure that the perspectives of survivors and co-survivors are considered in decisions that impact our progress toward ending breast cancer forever. Every two years, the Center for Public Policy identifies key public policy issues where Komen’s advocacy can make the greatest impact in achieving our mission.
Give from your Donor Advised Funds (DAF):
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a tax-advantaged account where you can donate money or assets, receive an immediate tax deduction and invest tax-free. The funds grow over time, allowing you to make charitable gifts. Giving Tuesday is Dec. 3 – consider supporting people facing breast cancer through your DAF or encourage others with a DAF to support Komen. Make a gift from your DAF!

We Love Our Volunteers
This Volunteer Appreciation Month we want to highlight two very special volunteers from right here in Hawaii.
Volunteer of the Year for West Region
We are excited to announce our very own Terese Bagley as the 2024 Volunteer of the Year for West Region!
Terese has been a dedicated and steadfast volunteer, supporting Susan G. Komen’s mission for many years. She has made invaluable contributions by offering her time, expertise. and dedication year round. Additionally, Terese serves as a committee member for Komen Hawaii, serving as a thought partner and helping ensuring the success of both our Pink Tie Ball and MORE THAN PINK Walk.
We are so proud to have Terese highlighted for her unwavering dedication and the impact she has made. Her contributions and support of our community extend far beyond her volunteer role. Please join us in congratulating Terese and thanking her for her tireless support in the fight against breast cancer.
Congratulations and Mahalo Terese!
Celebrating a legacy of Volunteerism
Please join us in celebrating long-time volunteer and leader Darlene Sardinha!
For over 35 years, Darlene has been a beloved member of the Queen’s Health System as Cancer Programs Associate and in collaboration with the Women’s Health Center, helped build the team that organized hundreds of employees in vitally important community service campaigns. Her leadership and commitment have touched the lives of so many, having spent 15 of those years leading the charge for The Queen’s Health Systems’ employees in support of breast cancer awareness and supporting Komen’s mission.
As a Susan G. Komen Hawaii legacy volunteer, Darlene played an instrumental role in the success of the Hawaii Race for the Cure, and later, the Hawaii MORE THAN PINK Walk. Her passion, energy, and tireless efforts have helped raise awareness and critical funds for the fight against breast cancer.
Maika’i Pomaika’i, Darlene A Hui Hou.
