Meet Eunice
“There's no history of breast cancer in my family. It was a big surprise when I received the diagnosis.”
Eunice felt a lump in her breast and was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2024, at 36
Eunice was in the midst of an intense project at work when she discovered a lump in her breast. Since she doesn’t have a family history of breast cancer and wasn’t yet 40, Eunice initially assumed it was a cyst. But once she finished her project, she saw her gynecologist, who immediately sent her for a diagnostic mammogram.
Eunice then had an ultrasound. “I remember the technician telling me ‘good luck,’ and it really struck me, because I didn’t even think to be worried,” Eunice recalled. A few days later, Eunice received a call while at work that she had breast cancer. A biopsy confirmed it was stage 2 triple negative.
Eunice’s treatment included chemotherapy on a Keynote 522 regimen, immunotherapy, a lumpectomy and radiation therapy. Now done with treatment, Eunice has regular scans throughout the year.
My first thought wasn't, ‘Am I going to die?’ It was more so, ‘Am I gonna lose my hair?'
