Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, today announced the return of the MORE THAN PINK Walk in San Diego on Sunday, November 6, 2022, in Balboa Park, located on 6th Ave. and Laurel St.
“We are excited to welcome back Walk participants in person this year and grateful for the opportunity to provide a community for anyone who has been impacted by breast cancer. Whether you are in treatment, celebrating survivorship, or a family member, friend or loved one, we hope you will join us in November and be part of our collective efforts to end breast cancer forever,” said Leia Brune, Executive Director of Susan G. Komen San Diego.
“We welcome all the members of our breast cancer community honoring friends, family and anyone who has been impacted by the disease,” said Brune. “The MORE THAN PINK Walk is about making steps toward curing breast cancer and the funds raised through registrations and sponsorships will give more individuals who have been impacted by the disease access to resources and the support they need now.”
The MORE THAN PINK Walk in the scenic Balboa Park on November 6, will begin with an opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m. followed by the walk at 9 a.m.
Registration for this year’s event is free and qualifying participants who register early will be able to receive exclusive prizes from sponsors of the event.
This year’s sponsors include Epic Sciences, Wawanesa Insurance, Soapy Joe’s Car Wash and Dunkin’.
The Power of ONE Week – a week’s worth of events to honor those who have been impacted by breast cancer – will precede the Walk on October 31, 2022. A schedule of in-person and virtual events and additional details will be announced soon.
