Susan G. Komen® 2024 Triangle Race for the Cure Raises Money for Breast Cancer Research and Patients

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, will hold the 28th Race for the Cure on Saturday, May 4 at Boxyard at Research Triangle Park. The Race raises critical funds to advance Komen’s mission and provide support to people facing breast cancer now.

Komen is excited and honored to bring together the breast cancer community at this year’s Race to pay tribute to and support those who have been impacted by this disease,” said Jenn Briand, executive director of North and South Carolina, at Susan G. Komen. “Here in the Triangle, we’re advancing breakthrough research that is saving lives and bringing us closer to the cures for breast cancer, but we cannot do it alone. This year’s Race is not just an event; it’s a pivotal moment to secure vital funds, that will make better treatments and equitable care available for all. We hope you can join us as we collectively pave the way for a future free from the burden of breast cancer.”

In North Carolina, 11,190 women are estimated to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024 and 1,450 will die of the disease. The Komen Patient Care Center can help meet the needs of anyone impacted by breast cancer.
