Susan G. Komen® Announces Band As One Los Angeles, a Concert for the Cure

Paula Abdul to Lead Inaugural West Coast Event in Support of Ending Breast Cancer Deaths

LOS ANGELES – Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, today announced its inaugural Band As One Los Angeles, a Concert for the Cure, a signature fundraising event that brings together a star-studded lineup of musical artists for an unforgettable night of music, stories and solidarity in support of people facing breast cancer. Paula Abdul will headline the event at the Dolby Theatre and be joined by musical friends who share Komen’s commitment to bringing people together to help fuel the fight to end breast cancer deaths – at a moment when that fight has never been more urgent. Proceeds from ticket sales will support Komen’s work across research, patient care, education and advocacy.

For millions of people facing breast cancer — including nearly 170,000 people in the US living with incurable, metastatic breast cancer — progress cannot come soon enough. Incidence is rising faster among women under 50. Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among Hispanic/Latina women and the leading cause of cancer death in this group. Black women continue to face persistent disparities, making them, on average, about 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women. More than 42,000 women in the U.S. and more than 500 men are expected to die from the disease this year. Experts estimate that up to one-third of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. could be prevented with equitable access to modern treatments.

Yet progress is within reach. Komen has invested more than $1.1 billion in breast cancer research and played a role in 31 of the last 32 FDA-approved breast cancer treatments. It has also invested approximately $2.7 billion in patient support and advocacy programs worldwide, helping break down the financial, social and systemic barriers that can stand between people and lifesaving care.

Events like Band As One Los Angeles bring people together around a shared purpose and turn that connection into action. Every ticket purchased helps fuel Komen’s work to advance research, expand access to lifesaving care and support people facing breast cancer. Until no one dies from breast cancer, the work is not done — and every person who comes together for this event helps move us closer to that future.

“This event means so much to me because fighting breast cancer isn’t just a cause I care about; it’s deeply personal to me,” said Grammy and Two-Time Emmy Award winner Paula Adbul. “I supported my sister through her diagnosis and treatment, and I know firsthand how much strength and hope can mean to the people facing this disease. I’m honored to perform at Susan G. Komen’s first-ever Band As One Los Angeles in support of survivors, patients and families affected by breast cancer.”

Added Susan G. Komen President and CEO Amber Guild, “It means everything when someone like Paula Abdul uses her stage for this fight. As someone who has faced breast cancer myself, I know how much hope and solidarity matter to the people living with this disease, and that’s exactly what a night like this creates. Band As One Los Angeles will be unforgettable, and the funds we raise will help ensure no one faces breast cancer alone and move us closer to a world where no one dies from it.”

The Los Angeles concert on March 31, 2027, builds upon Band As One Nashville, a country-themed fundraising concert that is now in its third year and previously headlined by Trisha Yearwood and her talented friends.

Sponsors for the event include Premier Sponsor Patricia Nash and Encore Sponsor Bonafide.
