Susan G. Komen® Launches Virtual Card For Mother’s Day

Campaign Provides Easy Social Distance Solution for Anyone Wanting to Send Love Notes to Mothers and Mother-Figures

Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, today invited people everywhere to participate in Komen’s With Love, XOXO Mother’s Day campaign and send a virtual love note to a mom. The campaign provides anyone, regardless of whether your family has been directly touched by breast cancer or not, an easy way to send virtual notes of love and appreciation to the mothers and mother figures in your life, which is particularly important in this period of social distancing.

“Mothers hold a special place in our hearts and Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to show them our support and honor them for everything they do in our lives,” said Susan G. Komen President and CEO Paula Schneider. “To mothers facing breast cancer, you are not alone. Susan G. Komen is working every day to find cures for breast cancer so that we can all live in a world without this disease.”

In addition to the virtual cards, Komen’s “With Love, XOXO” campaign includes videos on social media of women who have survived breast cancer or living with metastatic breast cancer, sharing inspirational and supportive messages to mothers impacted by the disease, as well as stories from children about their mothers who have or had breast cancer.

“We are pleased to be able to provide these heart-felt messages and virtual cards, especially during a time when many of us are unable to spend time in-person with our loved ones,” Schneider added. “We hope that everyone will use this opportunity to show their mother, or an important mother in their lives, some love this Mother’s Day.”

Disney Channel’s Raphael Alejandro has joined Komen’s Mother’s Day campaign in honor of his mother, a breast cancer survivor. The Bunk’d and Jungle Cruise (2021) actor is committed to highlighting the importance of breast cancer research.

“My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 2 years old, so I cherish every time that I can celebrate Mother’s Day with her,” Alejandro said. “She is my biggest supporter and I feel so grateful that she was able to pull through this dreadful illness and survived. I’m very happy to be able to help raise awareness for breast cancer research with Susan G. Komen.”
