The 5th Annual Large Cars & Guitars Raises Over $160K for Susan G. Komen® at Annual Event

The 5th annual Large Cars and Guitars Show brought together members of the trucking community to raise funds for Susan G. Komen, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, on May 8th and 9th. The event was hosted by songwriter and longtime trucker Tony Justice, and a large host of collaborators, at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Custom trucks from all over the state gathered over the weekend to raise funds to end breast cancer.

Tony Justice has used his platform as a musician to bring awareness to the cause among his community of truckers. His wife and longtime partner in his music endeavors, Misty Justice, was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2018. After learning of her diagnosis, Tony penned the song, “War Paint,” which was inspired by the harrowing experience the couple endured while Misty went through her treatments.

Performers for this year’s lineup include Paul Marhoffer, CCR Tribute Band, Ruby Leigh, Elvie Shane, EmiSunshine, Tony Justice, and John Schneider who will headline the event on May 9th.

Every 12 minutes, a woman in the U.S. dies from breast cancer. Experts say one-third of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. could be prevented with universal access to modern treatments. Funds raised at this event will allow Komen to meet the immediate needs of breast cancer patients in the Tennessee area and save more lives.
