“Over-indulged and cowardly, the young king has a cruel streak, particularly when it comes to those who are vulnerable” is a description of a fictional character but I appropriated it as an apt way to describe my cancer. It felt like an evil little menace invaded my body. I have to fight it and win. I was diagnosed in August of 2016 at the age of 37. Aggressive breast cancer, quickly progressing from stage 2B to 3. I’ve now had a bilateral mastectomy and am undergoing hormonal therapy. I am working full time at the Discovery Channel and not letting Joffrey (my cancer) anywhere near victory. The fight is on!
