There is always hope

In 1996 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was HER+. I had a double mastectomy and entered a chemo treatment. In 2001 it returned to the chest wall. I had surgery and radiation. In 2012 I was told I was cancer free and stopped the estrogen. In 2013 I complained of pain under my arm. A deep biopsy revealed cancer cells. I had surgery and radiation. In 2014 a CT scan revealed the cancer had progressed to my pelvic area and spine. I was placed on Afinitor. It is going on 20 years with cancer. Although I have been told that there is no cure for advanced stage 4 breast cancer, I am still hopeful for another decade of life. I have learned to treasure small blessings every day.
