Advocacy
In 2022, nearly 44,000 women and men in the U.S. are expected to die from breast cancer, with the majority of these deaths resulting from metastatic breast cancer. Susan G. Komen® is committed to doing everything it can to change that unacceptable reality, including mobilizing the voices of advocates to achieve lasting change through sound public policy.
Komen’s Center for Public Policy works to educate people about public policy issues, so they are empowered to become forceful advocates for themselves and their neighbors, and then unites their collective voices for maximum impact.
Only through informed government action can we make the broad, systemic and lasting change we need to help us achieve our vision of a world without breast cancer. By mobilizing our communities to take action, we can ensure the voice and needs of breast cancer patients and their loved ones are heard by policymakers and government regulators.
