At last week’s Susan G. Komen Boston 3-Day®, Kristin S. was honored with the Crew Impact Award, celebrating her dedication to leading with heart, serving with purpose and lifting the spirits of everyone around her in the Pink Bubble.
A longtime member of the Komen 3-Day, Kristin has participated in 18 events and raised nearly $90,000 to help end breast cancer. Her impact stretches far beyond miles and fundraising dollars, it shows up in the way she encourages, energizes and cares for the people beside her.
During the Top Fundraiser Showcase Showdown celebration on Day 2, her teammate, Laurie D., shared what makes Kristin standout within the 3-Day community.

“Kristin brings enough energy for the entire 3-Day. Her enthusiasm is contagious, her spirit is unmistakable, and somehow, she always seems to know when someone needs a little extra boost. She believes deeply in this cause and in the difference we’re making together,” Laurie said. “That belief shows up in everything she does, from her enthusiasm for fundraising to the positivity she brings to walkers when the miles get long and they need it most.”
Laurie also talked about Kristin’s keen sense of compassion.
“She notices when someone needs help, and she doesn’t hesitate to step in, whether it’s a walker who needs some encouragement, a fellow crew member who could use another set of hands,” Laurie added. “Or simply someone who needs to be reminded that they’re surrounded by people who care.”
Because of Kristin, countless 3-Day walkers and crew members have felt supported, encouraged and seen, and we are so grateful she is an integral part of this community.
Congratulations, Kristin!
